FAQ
Q : Where can I find the machine ID
?
A :
- download Analyzer2000
- install it
- start it
- Select "Show machine ID ..."
from the file menu

Or look at the Help/About Analyzer2000...
Q : Can I buy Analyzer2000 on CD
and if this is possible, where?
A : We do not offer
Analyzer2000 on CD personally, but there are several shareware collections
available, where Analyzer2000 is included. If you need Analyzer2000 on CD very
urgently, please contact us and we will find a solution :-)
Q : My PC is running Windows
Vista. Can i use Analyzer2000?
A : Yes, you can :-) But due to
the fact that Analyzer2000 was not explicitly designed to be used with Vista,
some tricks are necessary:
- you need to have admin right
during installation (select "Run as...")
- you need to have admin right
during use (select "Run as...")
- install WinHlp32.exe from the
Microsoft Web Page (click
here)
Q : Analyzer2000 seems to be
nearly unchanged for years. Do you still support this software?
A : It is true that Analyzer2000
5.05 is three years old but why change something being so complete and
successful? :-) However all questions and answered within days and problems
are tried to be solved fast.
Q : Can I have printed manuals for
Analyzer2000 ?
A : We do not support
shipping of a printed manual. However, you can copy the help topics manually
to a word processing software or buy the professional version "Analyzer Elite".
Q : Can I use digital inputs (SPDIF)
?
A : Yes, Analyzer2000
always uses the first audio channel of the system not caring about interfaces or
other features of the audio source.
Q : Why don't i hear any sound
when analyzing WAV files?
A : Playing back sound
files cannot always be done in realtime, especially on slow PCs or when using
high overlaps / small FFT sizes. This would lead to terrible chopped sounds
and therefor we disabled sound for playback.
Q : Do you offer a coporate
edition w/o the need for machine IDs / license keys ?
A : Yes, we can offer you a
corporate edition. Just contact us and tell us how many licenses you
need!
Q : Do you support
also higher sampling rates, for instance 96 kHz ?
A : Not directly but you can extend the showed sampling rates in the FFT
control easily by patching the registry. Look the following example to support
48kHz and 96 kHz sampling rate :
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Brown Bear Software\Analyzer2000Pro V5+\SndblstDrv]
"Viewwidth0"="2E3 4E3 1 1"
"Viewwidth1"="4E3 8E3 1 1"
"Viewwidth2"="5.5125E3 11.025E3 1 1"
"Viewwidth3"="11.025E3 22.05E3 1 1"
"Viewwidth4"="22.05E3 44.1E3 1 1"
"Viewwidth5"="24E3 48E3 1 1"
"Viewwidth6"="48E3 96E3 1 1"
Q : Do you also support higher
sample resolutions, for instance 24 bits ?
A : not yet
Q : Analyzer2000 is a nice
software, but something special is still missing. Can you integrate this new
feature?
A : Don't hesitate to contact us!
